Acne is one of the most common skin conditions in the UK and is most prevalent in younger people; APPROXIMATELY 85% OF SUFFERERS ARE AGED BETWEEN 12 AND 24. Acne is more common in males during adolescence but in adulthood, the incidence is higher in women. 1 It is important to manage acne appropriately; undertreatment may increase the risk of scarring, as it is linked to the severity and duration of acne. 2
As well as affecting appearance, acne can also have an impact on emotional health and wellbeing. Studies have shown that people with acne may also experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, poor self-image, a decreased quality of life and may feel alone. 3
RECOMMENDING A PRODUCT TO MANAGE THE SYMPTOMS OF ACNE AND PROVIDING YOUR CUSTOMERS
WITH ADVICE CAN HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON BOTH THEIR APPEARANCE AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING.
