DRY EYE SYMPTOMS
Listen out for the following signs and symptoms that your customers may describe that indicate they are affected by dry eye:5

It's important to note that dry eye is not an infection. Associated symptoms such as a sticky discharge or redness of the eye may indicate an infection.
Ask your customer for more information about their symptoms to help you to identify whether it is a form of conjunctivitis.
The following red flag symptoms should be
referred to the pharmacist, optician or A&E:
- Intense pain, intense photophobia (sensitivity to light), decreased/blurred vision
- Feeling of foreign object in eye
- Trauma to the eye (wound, contusion, acid burn, etc.)
- Red eye accompanied with a severe headache and feeling of sickness
