BLEPHARITIS SYMPTOMS AND MANAGEMENT

Listen out for any of the following that might indicate a customer has blepharitis:

It feels like there is something in my eye, but I can't see anything in there
It is difficult to open my
eyes in the morning
I look like I have
been crying
My eyes feel
itchy and dry
I've always got crusts
in my eyes
I feel like I have 'dandruff' around my eyes
My eyelids look puffy as if I have a cold/hangover/am tired

Blepharitis can't be cured, but a daily eyelid cleansing
routine can help control the symptoms.

You can advise customers to do the following:

  • Use a warm compress (such as Blepha Eyebag) for up to 10 minutes
  • Gently massage the eyelids
  • Cleanse the eyelids twice daily to start with and then once daily as symptoms improve.
