Making recommendations
When making a recommendation, it is useful to:
- Point out how the product meets the customer's needs
- Explain how the product should be used
- Give additional advice as appropriate, e.g. if recommending something for hayfever, also offer tips on how to avoid pollen
The features and benefits of a product are different - a feature is what you see on the product pack, the benefit is how it will help the customer.
