Switching from another product

For women who are switching from a prescription local oestrogen therapy without a break, use the Additional information section of the Pharmacy Checklist to:
- Confirm suitability (note that a GP would have already made diagnosis)
- Check no new symptoms/changes in health status/changes in family history
- Check that she has been using the prescription product for at least 3 months and has experienced benefit from using it.
If suitable, supply them their first pack, but advise them to follow the maintenance dose instructions. Review every 3 months, using section 3 of the Pharmacy Checklist. Progress, red flag symptoms, contraindications and family history will need to be checked at each visit.
