Go into you consultation room, and look carefully from a customer's perspective:

  • Consultation rooms should be kept clean, hygienic and free from clutter
  • Steps also need to be taken to protect any confidential data, for example not leaving patient medication record (PMR) screens open showing patients’ details, or keeping any prescriptions/consent forms in secure storage.
  • If a computer is in the room, any access to PMR must be password protected, especially if the room is used by external service providers.
  • It might also be useful to have signage to indicate when the room is occupied.
