As part of your planning for change, take some time to think about your answers to the following questions, which will help you to be more prepared for the changes ahead:
- Why are the changes needed – including what would happen if nothing changed?
- How do you feel about the change?
- What will the benefits be for all of the key stakeholders such as customers, team members or local GPs?
- Who is likely to support the change(s)?
- Who is not likely to support this, and why?
- What will all the key stakeholders need, eg training, information?
- Is it beneficial to measure the impact of the change(s)? If so, how? Examples might include prescription volume, profitability and customer satisfaction scores
- What are all of the different options for achieving the change?
- What is the communication plan?
- Are additional resources required, e.g. equipment, people, finance?
- Are there training requirements?
- Are there milestones along the way?
