If you’re leading the team training session this month, ensure that your team members understand their specific roles and are confident in playing their part.
More specifically:
- Get your team to look at the NICE guidance for headache. Get each person to identify three things they knew within the guidance and three things they didn’t know
- Get your team to consider how they could spot customers who have medication overuse headaches. Could you develop a standard operating procedure (SOP) for this issue?
- Do any of your team members suffer regular headaches? Ask them to fill in a diary and ask them if they would be prepared to discuss their diary for the benefit of the team and customers
- Revise the age restrictions and suitability of the headache medications you stock in the pharmacy
- Practise the WWHAM questions in relation to headaches. Does anything specific emerge for headaches? Cautions with specific symptoms, certain medications and so on.
Remember, training is essential for building confidence among the team at this busy and exciting time!
