As summer comes to an end and school starts again, pharmacy teams can help parents who will no doubt be coming to the pharmacy for advice and treatment on common parasites including head lice, roundworm, threadworms, scabies and bedbugs.
Head lice are very common in children aged seven to 11 and many parents are unsure how to treat them. The pharmacy team is ideally placed to dispel myths about head lice and advise on the products available to treat these parasites. It’s important for team members to get to know the product range well and be able to give advice on their most effective use. But remember to be sensitive in your conversations with customers as they may well feel embarrassed.
