As well as general body moisturisers, some products have been specifically designed for particular areas of the body, such as the face/scalp/hands and feet, either for ease of use or to give intensive care for specific areas. For example, feet may be more prone to dryness and cracked heels. In addition, not all products may be suitable for areas where the skin is more sensitive, such as the face.

Can they describe the affected skin?

Customers may be able to show you the skin, or may describe it as dry/dry and flaky/cracked/infected and sore. Skin that is infected or sore may need to be referred to the pharmacist/GP. The condition of the skin will help you to choose what level of moisturiser is needed - intensive care or replenishing products.

How is the affected skin managed currently?

How is the affected skin managed currently?

Customers that have tried products with urea and were sensitive to them should not use Eucerin products that contain urea. Customers who manage their skin with steroids may need advice on using moisturisers with their steroid cream. Customers may want to consider using additional products such as moisturising shower products.

Customers who are affected by eczema may want products specifically designed for caring for their condition, as well as advice on how frequently to reapply.

If a customer is concerned about their skin but does not know what is causing problems, they may need to be referred to the pharmacist/GP.
