WET COMBING

Wet combing is an alternative method for tackling head lice and resistance without the use of insecticides. The technique involves combing wet hair with a fine-tooth comb for about 30 minutes after shampooing and using conditioner. If evidence of lice is found, the process should be repeated twice weekly for two weeks to remove lice emerging from eggs before they can spread.

HEAD LICE REPELLENT AND PROPHYLACTIC TREATMENT

A spray containing a synthetic insect repellent and volatile oils is available; it must be used daily. There is also a protective spray containing octane-1,2 diol and penetration enhancers; it is applied after washing the hair and must be used at least twice weekly.
