Iglü Gel and Iglü Rapid Relief Gel:
- Stick fast over the ulcer forming a protective barrier that doesn’t slide off
- Soothe the pain and fight infection
- Shield the ulcer to help speed up the healing process.
They are specially formulated with bioâ€adhesive technology to make the gel stick fast over the ulcer, locking in the active ingredients.
- The active ingredients are lidocaine hydrochloride, which numbs the pain, and aminoacridine hydrochloride, which fights infection
- The barrier created by the gel shields exposed nerve endings from irritants and helps soothe the pain
- It also helps protect the delicate underlying tissue as the ulcer heals
- Before recommending Iglü gels, always ask the customer how long they have had the ulcer, if they are taking any other medicines and if they have any underlying medical conditions
- People with unexplained mouth ulcers that have persisted for more than three weeks without sign of healing, keep coming back or are unusual in any way should see their GP. This is very important to exclude the rare possibility of oral cancer, which can benefit from early diagnosis and treatment.
Iglü Protect gel also benefits from the protective barrier technology. It prevents rubbing and relieves sores and ulcers caused by dental braces.
Iglü Sugar Free Pastilles contain two active ingredients, benzalkonium chloride solution and compound benzoin tincture. These ingredients have antiseptic properties, which help to fight infections in the mouth. The pastilles soothe the mouth and gums as they dissolve.
It’s important to explain to the customer how to use Iglü gels to ensure they get the most benefit from the product:
1. Clean — use a clean tissue to gently remove excess moisture and saliva from the ulcer area.
2. Apply — squeeze a small quantity of gel onto a clean, dry fingertip or cotton bud. Apply directly onto the ulcer using a single, gentle wiping action (avoid dabbing).
3. Activate — the gel might seem pasteâ€like and sticky at first, but on contact with saliva it will form a flexible and adhesive shield over and around the ulcer area.
Iglü Protect is also applied in this 3-step process. However, in step 2, it should be applied directly to the brace or any problem areas in the mouth using a single, gentle wiping action (avoid dabbing).
For Iglü Sugar Free Pastilles it’s just one simple step — the pastille should be put in the mouth and allowed to dissolve slowly.
