As well as recommending a suitable product to alleviate the pain of mouth ulcers and hopefully speed up the healing process, the following advice can be offered to customers:
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and brush the teeth gently and carefully
- Avoid hard foods that might damage the mouth
- Go to the dentist regularly for check ups
- Eat a varied, balanced diet providing all the essential vitamins and minerals
- Drink cold drinks through a straw
- Avoid foods and drinks that may cause pain, such as those that are spicy, salty or acidic (e.g. tomatoes, fruit juice and curry)
- Try to manage stress and anxiety levels with relaxation techniques.
