Is there any need to treat bedding or clothing that has been in contact with head lice?

There is no evidence that lice are transmitted any way other than by head-to-head contact, and any live lice that fall off the head are unlikely to survive for more than 24 hours.
However, washing clothing and bedding at high temperature (50C or more) will kill any live lice.
