Could a head lice treatment be used on baby William if necessary?

For children below two years of age, wet combing or dimeticone 4% is recommended, before proceeding to aqueous malathion, if necessary. The manufacturers of dimeticone 4% and aqueous malathion lotions state that they are suitable for children aged six months and over.

The NHS advises that dimeticone 4% lotion can be used in infants from the age of one month, but that infants under six months should be treated with dimeticone 4% or malathion under medical supervision only. Dimeticone 92% and isopropyl myristate/cyclomethicone are not considered suitable for infants below the age of two years. And the product containing octane-1,2-diol should only be used on infants under six months under medical supervision.
