The NHS recommends use of toothpastes containing 1,350- 1,500ppm fluoride, at the following levels:
- Children under three years, twice daily brushing with a smear of toothpaste containing no less than 1,000ppm fluoride
- Children aged between three and six, at least twice daily with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste containing more than 1,000ppm fluoride
- Adults, at least twice daily with a toothpaste containing 1,350-1,500ppm fluoride.
