Trainee pharmacists at Boots in England and Northern Ireland will get a pay rise from April 1 this year.
The increase was announced last week by the Pharmacists’ Defence Association who said the new pay rates would apply to trainee pharmacists working in three zones.
Trainees in zone A in England/Northern Ireland will get £14.52 an hour, while those in zone B and C will get £14.52 and £14.70 respectively.
The PDA and Boots said: “The new pay rates will be applied centrally in the April pay run. The new rates will show during the annual benefits enrolment window from 18 February to allow team members to select benefits on their new hourly rate for 1 April.”
In October last year, the two organisations announced a four per cent pay increase for pharmacists and pharmacist store managers at Boots which kicked in from November 1.
