Introduction & module overview
The past year has again been incredibly busy as community pharmacy continued to be the first point of contact for many patients, ensuring the continued supply of medicines, responding to symptoms and ensuring that people were signposted to appropriate healthcare advice and support. The sector has continued to play a vital role and additional services have been offered and contracted, both nationally and locally.
For example, it was positive to see the continued expansion of the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service in England and the NHS Pharmacy First scheme in Scotland.1
