Service promotion

People may not be aware of the services your pharmacy can offer. Ways of promoting the hypertension case-finding service include:

• Having a blood pressure stand in the pharmacy and making sure patient information leaflets from reputable sources e.g. British Heart Foundation, Blood Pressure UK, the Stroke Association, are clearly on display
• Having stickers or leaflets to go into prescription bags
• Linking in with other pharmacy health promotion activities where people are already engaged
• Considering how the pharmacy might be able to identify people via flu and Covid-19 vaccine services
• Promoting the service on the pharmacy’s website or social media platforms.

Most pharmacies will also have blood pressure monitors for sale. The pharmacy team can advise patients on the purchase of a monitor and support people in the correct use of the monitor at home.
