Pharmacist Support will launch its fifth annual ACTNow Campaign this month to help pharmacists and pharmacy teams across the UK struggling with mental and physical health problems.
The campaign runs from October 18 to November 8 and focuses on three specific themes; workplace culture, loneliness and professional isolation and physical health.
Pharmacist Support said those who sign up to the campaign will have access to free resources, including “practical guidance for managing workplace wellbeing and creating supportive environments.”
“Each week, the campaign will explore one of the core themes, with stories from pharmacy professionals nationwide,” Pharmacist Support said.
“These personal experiences will cover important topics such as celebrating Diwali in the workplace, working as a remote pharmacist and undergoing IVF treatment.”
Another resource being offered as part of the campaign is guidance to help pharmacy managers, supervisors and leaders facilitate sensitive conversations in the workplace.
“This is especially important as 45 per cent of pharmacy owners identified staff wellbeing as one of their top three concerns in the recent Community Pharmacy England pressures survey,” Pharmacist Support said.
Its campaign will also include the start of a podcast series, A Dose of Wellbeing: The Pharmacist Support Podcast, which it said will “feature experts and key figures in pharmacy and mental health” and “explore the challenges facing the profession and share stories of resilience and best practices for wellbeing.”
“Over the past few years, we’ve seen that these stories really resonate with our pharmacy family. By having open conversations, we’re helping to remind people that they are not alone in their struggles,” said Pharmacist Support chief executive Danielle Hunt.
