DHSC issues new medicines stock warnings

The Department of Health and Social Care has issued two new medicines notifications that warn of stock issues.

The DHSC said Somatropin (NutropinAq) 10mg/2ml solution for injection cartridges have been discontinued after stock was “exhausted” in late March.

Somatropin (Humatrope) 6mg, 12mg and 24mg powder and solvent for solution for injection cartridges have also been discontinued after stock was “exhausted” in late April, although the DHSC said other brands of somatropin are available “and can support increased demand.”

The DHSC also said Valios 10mg and 20mg orodispersible tablets are out of stock until late August although Valios 5mg orodispersible tablets are available “and can support a partial increase in demand.”

Memantine 10mg/ml oral solution and Ebixa 5mg pump oral solution are available. The notifications were published by Community Pharmacy England.
