Optimising inhaler technique

This module is about current thinking on
optimising inhaler technique. It will consider common errors in inhaler use and how to improve inhaler technique.

Learning objectives:

• Recognise common errors with inhaler use and discuss possible solutions to improve a patient’s inhaler technique
• Understand that inhaler devices are as important as drugs in managing the disease
• Describe best practice in the use of different inhaler devices
• Discuss the steps of a consultation to assess a patient’s inhaler technique.
